So Delicious Frozen Dessert Recalled Again Over Small Stones and Hard Objects
Quick Summary
Danone USA announced a voluntary nationwide recall on September 15, 2026, for So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert because small stones and other hard objects may be present in the cashew pieces.
And there is an important piece of history consumers should know: this same flavor was recalled in December 2025 for the same type of problem involving foreign material in the cashew inclusions.
The current recall covers affected pints with best-by dates on or before April 3, 2028.

Why Is It Being Recalled?
This is not a recall for bacteria, a foodborne illness or an undeclared allergen.
Danone says there is a possibility of foreign material, including small stones and other hard objects, within the cashew inclusions used in the Salted Caramel Cluster frozen dessert.
The company says the problem was identified through consumer complaints.
Hard objects in food can present an injury risk. Potential injuries from hard or sharp foreign objects can include damage to teeth and gums or injuries to the mouth, throat or gastrointestinal tract.
This Has Happened Before
This is where the story becomes more significant.
On December 15, 2025, Danone U.S. recalled the same product:
So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert
That recall involved the same SKU and UPC and was also prompted by the potential presence of small stones and other hard objects within the cashew inclusions.
The earlier recall covered products with best-by dates before August 8, 2027.
At the time, Danone said it had identified and corrected the issue and would resume shipments after confirming execution of the recall.
Now, approximately nine months later, Danone has announced another recall involving the same flavor, the same UPC and the same type of foreign material in the cashew ingredient. The new recall expands the affected best-by window to products dated on or before April 3, 2028.
That does not establish that every product manufactured between the two recalls was contaminated, nor does it establish the precise cause of the new problem. It does establish that consumers are dealing with a second publicly announced recall of this product involving the same type of hazard.
What Should Consumers Do?
If you have this frozen dessert at home, check the bottom of the container for the best-by date and verify the UPC.
Danone says consumers with an affected pint should not eat it.
Consumers can contact the So Delicious Dairy Free Consumer Care Line at 1-833-367-8975, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, for information about a refund or replacement coupon.
Danone says it is working with retailers to remove affected products from store shelves. The company also says unaffected products remain available and product being shipped going forward is not affected by the recall.
The Maria Approved It Bottom Line
This recall is easy to misunderstand. The concern isn't dairy, an undeclared allergen or bacterial contamination. It is foreign material in the cashew inclusions.
More importantly, this isn't the first recall involving this particular frozen dessert and this particular problem.
If you have So Delicious Salted Caramel Cluster in your freezer, don't rely on recognizing the package alone. Check the product name, UPC and best-by date.
