195,000 Heated Blankets and Heating Pads Sold on Amazon Recalled After 53 Burn Injuries

Quick Alert: If you purchased a JKMAX heated blanket or heating pad from Amazon, check it before using it again. About 195,000 products have been recalled because their internal heating elements can overheat, creating fire and burn hazards.

The model number may also appear on a white label on the original product packaging along with the JKMAX brand name.
Why Are They Being Recalled?

This recall is especially important because the hazard has already resulted in a substantial number of reported incidents. JKMAX is aware of:

Heated blankets are often pulled out again when temperatures begin dropping, sometimes after spending months packed away. If you own one purchased through Amazon, this is a good time to check the brand and controller before plugging it in.
If yours is a JKMAX product included in this recall, do not test it to see whether it still works and do not continue using it because it has worked safely in the past.
Unplug it, stop using it, verify the model number, and follow the recall instructions for your refund.
